Hans Thyge & Co. design studio was founded in 1990 by Hans Thyge Raunkjaer. The studio specialises in designing furniture, objects, interiors and branding. The studio has a long history of know-how and experience working with a variety of materials and production methods for clients worldwide. Hans Thyge & Co. consists of passionate designers with bold ideas and a love for beautiful design. The studio believes that every design should tell a story of creativity, tradition, vision, culture and values. Throughout the years, the studio has received several awards in the international design scene. “Creativity is the variety of impressions, which are combined with memories and associations, and filtered through the individual view,” Hans Thyge Raunkjær (* 1957).

   • Mesh seat -Well ventilated, flexible & supportive Dupont thermoplastic  polythene stretch mesh.
4. Seat Depth Adjustment - Seat sliding stroke 80mm. Pull the button under the seat for seat depth adjustment.
5. Seat Height Adjustment - Under seat lever for height adjustment (465 mm-555 mm).
6. Backrest Height Adjustment - Pull it up with 2 hands slowly (80mm)
7. Flexible Lumbar Support - Premium moulded foam lumbar support.
8. Reclining Tension Adjustment - Lever for tilting tension adjustment.
9. Synchro Reclining - Wide angle of 145° for total relaxation.
10. Synchro Tilting - Lock the chair's tilting position by turning the knob in any direction.
11. 3D Armrests - Height/width/depth.

What inspired the design of this chair?

The Midnight Office chair design team has excellently extracted inspiration from natural elements, allowing the simple design to be embodied in elegant lines that interpret Scandinavian “rich simplicity”. The squared lines of the J-bar and five star base combining gentle curves of other elements of its design make the MIDNIGHT office chair distinctive and yet natural in design characteristics - making it an attractive and aesthetically pleasing contribution to your office space.

What makes this chair unique?

Typically, the human body has three physiological curvatures. Due to physiological requirements, they do not grow in one straight line. The thoracic vertebrae are convex, and the cervical and lumbar vertebrae are convex forward. From the side view, the spine looks like two “S” are connected.

The backrest comes in 2 parts so that the lumbar support can be individually and separately adjusted according to your height for unparalleled support and comfort. This innovative system offers firm you support to the lower back that encourages sitting in an ergonomically correct position to reduce fatigue from sitting stationary throughout the day. When you get tired of sitting, it also provides extreme comfort in a relaxed, leaning-back position.

The low lumbar support is to be adjusted according to your height. You push the lower lumbar to support the right S-curve on your spine.

When leaning on both the lower and upper backrest, both backrest pieces move independently from each other. This creates a supportive and extremely ergonomically comfortable seating arrangement like you've very rarely experienced before - if ever!

The backrest of the Midnight office chair fits closely with the physiological curvature of the user’s spine which provides full support while accommodating different body sizes to achieve the healthiest sitting posture for each individual. Our engineers have tested the chair's functions repeatedly and made adjustments in design accordingly until achieving the best visual and sitting experience.

The height of the backrest can be adjusted quickly by simply pulling it up with 2 hands and it will be returned to the lowest height automatically when it’s pulled to the top, With the stroke distance of 80mm, it could be adjusted for the users with a wide variety of heights and physiques.

Foam or mesh seat options

FOAM SEAT - The seat is designed with a higher front edge in an arc shape, plus 80mm thick moulded foam, which helps to minimise the pressure distribution of users' legs to provide you with an extremely comfortable seating experience.

MESH SEAT - The Midnight Office Chair mesh seat offers excellent ventilation, while being supportive, to reduce the heat and moisture accumulation from long hours of seated work to ensure the user's comfort at all times. The seat is ergonomically designed to help circulation in the legs despite long hours of seating. With the seat sliding function, it can be easily and quickly adjusted to fit a variety of users.

Fashionable, innovative, flexible and dermatologically-friendly.

After a variety of comparisons and tests, we selected a skin-friendly (dermatologically friendly) and breathable mesh. This mesh is the latest development from WINTEX which is a world-renowned Korean textile supplier, alongside DuPont’s thermoplastic polyethylene stretch, which provides excellent pressure distribution. Compared with other mesh products, its wear resistance has proved more than 100,000 times more durable.
